Reverend Alvin Downing - Tuesday, October 6, 2026
Rev. Dr. Alvin Downing Sr. is a native of Edenton, NC, and the son of Hattie Hathaway Downing and the late Deacon Charlie Lee Downing Sr. His siblings include Charlotte D. Battle, as well as the late Charlie Jr. and Joann. Rev. Dr. Downing has been married to Felicia Smith Downing for over 32 years, and they share two sons, Alvin Jr. and Martin, and six grandchildren. Together, they have also provided home and respite care for foster children in Wake and Durham counties for over eight years.
Rev. Dr. Downing began his Christian journey at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, serving in the choir and as a musician for several churches in the Edenton and Hertford areas. He later served in the music ministry at Elevation Baptist Church in Raleigh and as the Minister of Music at Saint Hope MBC in Spring Hope, NC. He answered the call to preach while serving at Mount Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Raleigh under the leadership of Rev. Dr. J. Vincent Terry Sr., preaching his initial sermon there in 2006. He has now been preaching and teaching the gospel for 20 years.
His educational background includes an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration from Martin Community College, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with a Minor in Religious Studies from Shaw University, where he became a lifetime member of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society in 2008. He earned his Master of Divinity from the Shaw University School of Divinity in 2013, and his Doctorate of Ministry in Biblical Studies from the Apex School of Theology in 2018. Additionally, he completed his Clinical Pastoral Education through the Duke University Hospital Systems, serving as a Chaplain at Duke-Raleigh Hospital.
Since July 6, 2014, Rev. Dr. Downing has served as the pastor of Pettiford Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kittrell, NC. His community and denominational leadership includes serving as a chaplain for Gentiva Hospice covering Granville and Wake counties, serving as a Board Member and Monitoring Chairperson on the Granville County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and participating in the Mary E. Phillips High School Business Alliance in Raleigh. He is also the Moderator of the 43 churches within the East Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Association of NC, Inc. in Creedmoor, NC. Rev. Dr. Downing’s life and ministry remain dedicated to faith in Christ Jesus and serving as an instrument for His glory.
Reverend Quienn T. Surgeon Witcher - Tuesday, October 13, 2026
Rev. Quienn Surgeon Witcher is a preacher, pastor, educator, administrator, entrepreneur, and servant-leader whose life reflects an unwavering commitment to faith, family, education, and service. As the Founding Pastor of Triumph Christian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, she stands as a testament to what can happen when preparation meets purpose and obedience answers the call of God.
Born the only child of the Rev. Dr. Maggie Surgeon-Talley, Pastor Quienn was raised in a home where faith, family, education, and excellence were foundational. Her mother instilled in her that it was never enough simply to attend school or complete an assignment—whatever she did, she was expected to give her very best. Reading, comprehension, critical thinking, and articulation became staples of her upbringing. A gifted student, she was reading on a collegiate level while still in elementary school, participated in academically gifted courses, and attended enrichment programming at North Carolina A&T State University from fifth through eighth grade.
Having received portions of her early education in both North Carolina and New Jersey, Pastor Quienn graduated from Walter Hines Page Senior High School, Class of 1998. Her pursuit of education continued through Brookstone College of Business, where she completed a two-year undergraduate program, and Morgan State University, where she went on to complete a two-year program in Communications, to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later completed the Human Resources Professional Certification program through eCornell University and earned her SHRM-CP credential.
Her academic journey continued into theological education as she earned the Master of Divinity from Shaw University Divinity School. Continuing a lifelong commitment to scholarship, innovation, and leadership, Pastor Quienn will be a member of the inaugural cohort of the nation’s first HBCU Doctor of Education program in Artificial Intelligence and Moral Agency. Her pursuit of this groundbreaking degree represents the intersection of her passions for faith, education, ethics, leadership, and the rapidly evolving future of technology.
Professionally, Pastor Quienn has built a career centered on helping people navigate opportunities and reach their fullest potential. For more than a decade, she served as a Human Resources professional before transitioning into higher education following the COVID-19 pandemic. She served at High Point University as a Financial Planning Counselor and currently serves as the Associate Registrar at Shaw University. Known for her infectious personality, 1000 watt smile, compassion, professionalism, and sensational energy, she has become a valued presence among students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
Her gifts extend beyond ministry and higher education into entrepreneurship. Pastor Quienn is the owner of In the Making, by Q’s Creations and Tres Chic Q’Tique, ventures that further demonstrate her creativity, vision, and commitment to building what God has placed within her hands.
Yet, beyond the degrees, professional accomplishments, businesses, and titles is the testimony of a woman who said yes to God.
Pastor Quienn accepted Jesus Christ at the age of 16. Like many believers, her journey included seasons of wandering, but at the age of 24, she returned wholeheartedly to God—and she has been on the wall for Jesus ever since. She first sensed the call to preach in 2000, but wrestled with and ran from that call for years. In January 2018, surrender overcame hesitation, and she preached her Initial Sermon in Baltimore, Maryland at Powerhouse Deliverance Ministries.
From that moment forward, Pastor Quienn served diligently wherever God planted her. After relocating to North Carolina, she continued faithfully serving the local church and eventually served in the weighty role of Executive Pastor. And now, God has called, elevated and equipped her to be founding, Senior Pastor of The Triumph Christian Church, in Greensboro, NC. For all that she has accomplished, Pastor Quienn considers some of her greatest honors to be found not behind a podium, in an office, or attached to a title. She treasures being a mother, a daughter, wife, a family woman, and above all, a servant of Jesus Christ. An only child herself, family remains one of the greatest treasures of her life, and she intentionally cherishes every opportunity to love, laugh, gather, and create memories with those God has entrusted to her.
Pastor Q’s life and ministry are anchored in the prophetic promise of Isaiah 40:28–31 (KJV)—a reminder that the everlasting God never grows weary, and those who wait upon the Lord will have their strength renewed.

Pastor Daemarkis Faison-Love embraced the call to Pator and was assigned to the Macedonia Unity Holy Church of America Incorporated Beulaville N.C. During the 2023 Holy Convocation of the Southern Dristict-Goldsboro, Pastor Faison-Love was elevated to the position of District Elder of the Clinton Distric Pastorsand Churches
Since July of 2025, Pastor Faison -Love has served as the Pastor of the Alston Chapel UHCA, Pittsboro NC . Affectionately know as ACC.
Pastor Faison-Love is currently matriculating at Shaw University, pursuing a Master’s of Divinity degree.
Pastor Faison-Love is married to the former Lavivian Donielle Graves. To this union, Judah Reign and Ezra Reign. The driving force behind Pastor Faison’s ministry and existence is clear and transparent. His assignment is to “Transform a Generation; one life and one soul at a time”
